When I hear of destination weddings, they usually come to me, but I went with them this time. Jessa & Colton are super close friends and own Jump Fox Cinematics, so I get to work with them every chance I can, but this time, they asked me and my wife Lisa with Live and Love Events to take care of their wedding at Yosemite National Park.
It all started at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, Fish Camp, CA., where we and the guests stayed for the next few days. Snow was falling and it was absolutely gorgeous. On the morning of the ceremony, we cleared snow and ice off our vehicles and drove the hour into Yosemite. Great views of all the fallen snow and a few wild animal sightings along the way.
Our location for the ceremony was located near the base of the waterfall, in an open clearing. Perfect for about 50 of Jessa & Colton’s closest friends and family. I was so honored when they asked me to officiate their wedding. Viewing the photos taken by Michelle Roller Photography is the only way to see how beautiful it all was. And a special thank you to Steelhead Cinema for providing video of the day and Summer in Bloom for the lovely bouquet and accent flowers. After the ceremony, Jessa & Colton took a little private time to share personal vows with one another out in a clearing near the ceremony location.
When the ceremony was completed, we all returned to the lodge for a little break and then on to the reception. Jessa & Colton spent a lot of time, creating all the decor for the reception tables. Embellish Vintage Rentals provided many of the little chests and knickknacks needed to complex their vision, along with Lisa’s Live and Love Events decor. Jessa & Colton are into Star Wars, Harry Potter, and other fantasy genres. So they took book pages and made table coverings and centerpieces. It was so magical!
After their Grand Entrance, they danced their first dance as a newly married couple to “Falling In Love at a Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg. They chose that song because they first met in a coffee shop
Jessa & Colton love breakfast foods, so The Tenaya Lodge prepared dinner with eggs, bacon, waffles, and other delicious breakfast items. It’s a great change from what everyone is used to for dinner.
Once all the heartfelt toast were complete, the dance floor opened and the party began. Traveling this distance is something I do very infrequently, but for Jessa & Colton, I was more than happy to do it. Congratulations, you two!
